Both videos were the same for me.
Wonder how many games his idol Pronger helps give him for that play. |

re-living the feeling you had when you were 13 and your father came home and realized you hadn't yet cut the grass.
Great analogy |

Kid has a great future, but he should probably get a game or two for the slew foot.. If there's one thing players can't stand, it's slew footing and skate kicking. |

Those 2 videos are the same thing. I also don't think a dirty play like a slew foot makes someone "evil." - jmatchett383

As a flyer fan I have a hard on for Tkachuk this kid is going to be a dandy. You know who I want on my team? Players that hate to lose and will push the boundaries in order to avoid that. This world is becoming pussified quickly and this kid isn't a part of it |

Here is an story as told by Red Sullivan who played for the Rangers back in the 50's. Had to do with a slew foot on Doug Harvey. Payback was different back then LOL
Sullivan didn't have too much fun the night Doug Harvey speared him.
"We were playing against the Montreal Canadiens and Doug Harvey, a man who I still like and have a great deal of respect for, speared me. I suffered an injury to my spleen," Sullivan explained.
"It was one of those situations where Harvey was paying me back for something I had done to him the night before. On this particular occasion, I had given it to him the night before when I kicked the skates right out from under him during a game. That's something you don't do. So I knew I was going to get it the next night. I just didn't expect to be speared, which is something you don't do either."
Sullivan understates the severity of the injury.
"It didn't end my career that night. But I think it had something to do with the fact that I retired a short time thereafter.
He did not mention that a Catholic priest was brought in to read him his last rights. Mind you, that may just be a legend nowadays. |

Good read. A real dumb play. He should be taken to the woodshed.
If he'd just slashed him and broken a finger or two we wouldn't be having this discussion.... |

Suspension? I don't see the issue here. That was no worse than a simple trip. Send him to the box for two and be done with it. |

Fall over backwards from that kind of play and smack your head on the ice and say it's not that bad. Even with a helmet if unexpected that fall is going to hurt. |

cause he was leaning and skating forward. if its a slew foot that leaves u falling backwards, feet in the air and smacking you head. that's bad yes. Ive had it done to me before. |

Meh. I didn't really notice him last night all game. I don't think it's even worth having a player's safety meeting. Move along. |

Soooo basically hockey players treat you how George Clooney would treat a reporter from the National Enquirer is what you're telling us here? Unless they're un-drafted kids that is. |

If Marincin is hurt this will be the second time he has done this and seriously injured someone.
Unlike his dad or any of the names mentioned Matt Tkachuk is a coward. After injuring Davidson for 40+ games on a similar play Davidson wanted some revenge and challenged Tkachuk multiple times to fight in the last Oilers Flames game. Tkachuk was too scared to fight and has none of his pops character.
He is a cheap shot artist that most likely will have a short and controversial career because of it.
He needs to be suspended long term since he obviously seems to think he can get away injuring other players whenever their team is losing badly. |

Tkachuk plays rough, mean and pesty. But I wouldn't say dirty, even though I didn't like the leg sweep at the end. Honestly the Bennet slew foot was way worse, just luckily didn't end in an injury. This kid plays dirty when he wants to, kesler dirty. Which i do not like. And that hit on Guadreau was even worse. Shoulder directly to the head? Tell me, if Chara made that same hit on Matthews would Sportsnet still have the headline "Gotta See It: Komarov rocks Gaudreau with devastating hit"? I think they'd instead be calling for his head, no matter the height difference. |

He would have been an ideal winger to trade up for. |

I can't wait till he removes this horrendously dirty trip move from his game, and starts using the league acceptable two hand slash to the hands.
